Broadway’s Newest Restaurant Little Town
People come from all over the world to witness the stories offered to tell on Broadway. A magical night at a show should not end when the curtain rises though.
Take a hop over to Restaurant Row conveniently located in the heart of the theater district to hear another tale and get an amazing true New Yorker meal at the same time at Little Town. While most eating establishments on The Row have themes, Little Town located on 46th Street has an interesting back-story that can truly be appreciated.
When Executive Chef Jordan Andino was brought in to establish the menu he decided in February 2012 to take a road trip to find the perfect dish. “I wanted a restaurant that had an array of tastes that were reflective of the great state of New York,” stated Andino. “The menu is homage to the great flavors we discovered on our trip.”
Early on Sunday morning the adventurous Cornell University educated chef started his journey with a co-worker that would last 22 hours and covered 800 miles over 22 New York State cities. The trip started out by bus to a rental car location that ended up in a ride back home to the city in the wee hours of the morning light.
“We would go to the different city restaurants, eat and talk to the managers about our idea to have their types of dishes featured at Little Town,” Andino said. “Everyone was interested in being a part of this big idea to bring the entire state home to the city.”
There were a lot of miles traveled and a lot of full bellies, but every bite was worth it. The restaurant started featuring the special menu in March and New Yorkers and tourists alike cannot get enough of it. “I love it when a person visiting from the city we got the dish in says you got it right,” declared the chef. “We represent a taste of America.”
Indeed, if you want a meal that is fun and full of a sense of homegrown pride Little Town is the place to be. “Customers love our menu because we are passionate about it,” enthusiastically stated the chef. “There is no better place to be if you want food that tells a story.”
Little Town is open seven days a week and features lunch and dinner menus with brunch also served on the weekends. Food items featured from the famed road trip include:
There are nearly100 types of beer on the menu that also represent New York vendors, along with a seasonal menu that features farm fresh local food. Group discounts are also granted.
