Asian Turkey Burger

An homage to Chef Deb who ruled my frat house kitchen roost at Cornell University! These healthy patties are lean on fat and full of Asian flavors.

 

Turkey Patties Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground turkey
  • 1/2 head Napa cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil
  • 1/2 red onion, finely diced
  • 2 green onions, finely diced
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 roasted red pepper, finely diced
  • 1 tablespoon salt and pepper, plus more to taste

Wasabi Aioli Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayo
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons wasabi powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • Buns and fixin's, for serving

Directions

  1. In a large sauté pan, cook down cabbage with soy sauce, garlic , salt, pepper, and sesame oil, for about 6 minutes on high heat
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients for the turkey patties, including the cooked cabbage, and work well with your hands until the mixture is uniform
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine all ingredients for the wasabi aioli and whisk together until fully incorporated
  4. Use a griddle to cook the patties, and make sure to flatten and sear on each side until almost black or heavily charred; serve on buns with aioli and fixin's of your choice
